Unless you just "know" what you want to do any job will be a compromise:-( But if you want to be a dancer realize there are those girls who make decent money and then those that really make great money. Part of that of course is the club and the type of customers they attract! Your gonna be "selling" a fantasy, and when your selling you need to sell to those that have the most spare cash they dont mind parting with. (get your butt into a nice club) But most importantly you have to realize that you dont have to be fantastic looking to make great money! You just have to understand that you are selling the fantasy to the men in the club (and women in some clubs)
I had a good friend who was a dancer who understood this and was a great dancer. She understood that it was the angle that you look at the guy , the twinkle in the eye, the way you play with one guy by stealing his tie or hat and glance at another while your doing it! Learn to read the men, realize there are a couple of different types of men, and each one will tip you for something different! Except that it is a "fantasy" in their head that you are trying to match!
I would suggest highly!!! to go visit several clubs! watch the dancers, pick out the ones that always have men lined up for "Private" dances after their floor show, and begin to spot the things that they do similar! Ask yourself if you can do those things well! if the answer is yes then there is just one thing left to do!
Go get a some finincial help! You will make great money! but it will be in cash! you need to treat this like what it is! A JOB! and you will want to take a vacation! quit! or even walk away and never do it again at some point! so make sure you dont blow the cash, that kind of income is hard to replace unless you plan for it or plan to not have to!!!
Good luck, hope this helps!
